Baby Shower at School

There is nothing like posting a whole bunch of pictures of yourself!! But, just think in a few short weeks I will have a new subject to take pictures of. And we all know that he will be a heck of a lot cuter to look at!! These are a few pictures of my shower I had at school yesterday, it was a ton of fun and I got some great stuff! I work with some great people! I am so lucky. Sorry some of the pictures are a little out of order, I wasn't thinking about that as I was downloading and you can't move them around...

It's Been a Long Time...

Well it has been sever days since I have posted. I haven't been up to much, but my phone line decided to turn itself off last week and we finally got it fixed today! I was really going through withdrawal.
WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS...We had to replace the storm windows on the front of the house, which I meant to take pictures of since Brett was using power tools!!! But my wonderful pregnancy brain caused me to forget. Oh, well we still are waiting for the big one in the middle to come in and hopefully I will remember then. Sure does make a big difference. NO MORE CONDENSATION!!! We also found out when our furnace wouldn't turn on that the blower motor had gone out. SOOO...we GOT to replace that for the low low price of $375. Needless to say it was pretty cold in our house for a couple of days and money didn't really exist. Thank goodness all that is taken care of. Hopefully the rain has stopped falling on the Schultz family!
BABY NEWS...We had a doctor appointment on Thursday last week. Everything is coming along fine. We chatted with the nurse practitioner about what the plan should be if we can't get to Topeka. She said the doctor may want to induce to save us a flying trip to Topeka in a snow storm. We will have our birthing class on Saturday. Which I am sort of looking forward to but also figuring that it could be boring since I have a degree that covers birth to age 8. Which means I know a lot about the birth process. Hopefully it will tell me the things I have been nervous about that you don't learn in college!

Watch Out Betty Crocker!!

This is a picture of my pie that I randomly decided to bake. I haven't baked a pie in years, probably since Home Ec II class!! It was delicious! Who knew...I didn't really consider myself much of a baker, more of a cook. Probably shouldn't tell Brett! :)

Baby, School, and More

Thursday was our last 4 week visit to the doctor. That marks a milestone in our journey. Dr. Dickson said everything looks good, and I haven't heard anything yet about my glucose test, which means everything is good there.
I have been feeling pretty great. I continue to swell while I am work. Which Dr. Dickson is not concerned about, and told me I better enjoy it while it lasts, because it will probably only get worse... I am also looking forward to the day when I can sleep through the night without waking up to go to the bathroom, or to having acid reflux. But, I know that day is several years away still! It will be worth it I have no doubt.
Parent Teacher Conferences start on Wednesday, which I am not exactly excited about. I love my job and I am not sure that I would ever want to do anything else, but I hate PTC. You would think that after 2 years of conferences I would be getting use to it. But, unfortunately you never know what to expect. I have great kids this year which should be comforting, but it's not. Even the best kid, could have a crazy parent!
AND it doesn't matter how many notes you send out, inevitably you will have a few no shows, and stragglers. That irritates me more than anything. It's not a come whenever you want type of deal.
PARENTS: We have a schedule and if I came to your home or place of work, it would irritate you if I just showed up whenever I pleased. And while I am on the subject, could you please bathe and wear he necessary underwear! I have to dress up could you at least act like you didn't just roll out of bed!
Anyway...Brett and I finished our registries on Thursday. That was fun. I think it was even more fun than doing the registry for the wedding. The stuff sure it a whole lot cuter anyway!
Friday is the last day of PTC and afterwards Brett and I are heading to Lawrence to go to KU Late Night. This is the first time for both of us and I will let you know how it goes. I am not exactly looking forward to it since we will have to stand in line or sitting on a hard bleacher for a few hours!!

No News is Good News

I haven't blogged for a while so I thought I would do a brief update. Not much has been going on around these parts. Brett and I spent most of the day Saturday cleaning house. I am the luckiest girl in the world. I didn't even have to ask my wonderful husband to help clean, HE suggested it!! He is such as great help around the house. I can't brag enough.
Brett's job is going well. He has been working steady now for several months and even has been getting over time. Brett even said that they will probably be working 42 hours until the end of the year!!! PERFECT TIMING!!
This weekend we will be going to see Grandma and Grandpa Nienstedt for their anniversary, which I am not sure if they know...might be a surprise!! Dad has been working on getting all his brothers and sisters there, but it sounds like it will just be us and Marty and Christie's bunch...pretty typical. Dad is disappointed and pissed off.
As for me I got to spend some quality time with my sister on Monday which was nice. She came over and we went for a walk. We got to talk for a couple of hours! I am also preparing for the end of the nine weeks and Parent Teacher Conferences. Hope I have enough nice clothes to wear for conferences! :) Brett and I are also planning a trip to Lawrence in a couple of weeks for LATE NIGHT! Brett is pumped and I am just glad that I don't have to take off from work to go stand in line. We have PTC in the a.m. and no school in the afternoon. Let's all pray for good weather. I would really prefer not to have a repeat of the KU football game...miserable rain...
