Snowy day...

Landen didn't seem to mind the cold snowy weather.

He is getting closer to being able to sit up by himself...

Last night Landen was loving on his lovey...Bearington. He loves that bear!

Working on some tummy time. He really hates being on his tummy and on the floor, so I figured out that on the bed in his boppy he is pretty happy!

Landen

Sleeping in the swing!
Yep, that is spit up all over my boy's face...He loves to rub his face on the burp cloth...

Hanging out while Mommy and Daddy do some cleaning! (Check out the Star Wars shirt!)

Watching the ball game!! He is for sure ours! :)

More Lessons in Being a Mommy!

See #25

Well...I knew it would happen, I have come up with a few more lessons that I have learned in the 3 months of Landen's life.

21. Sometimes Mommy is the only one that can calm a cranky baby...and on the flip side sometimes Mommy can cause a baby to cry just by walking into the room. Mmmm food!

22. AHHHH showers...They were refreshing before, but now...they are the few moments you have ALONE.

23. Don't get too excited...you have to have a plan even for a shower! Car seat, kick and play chair, or a swing is a great plan depending on the size of your bathroom. In mine tiny bathroom it's a kick and play chair with the door WIDE open!!

24. Police officers are more than willing to help you put in a car seat...no matter how many times you go! They want to protect your little one just as much as you do! (pretty cute really!)

25. Resourceful you ask...ordinary things turn into baby supplies! A cookie cooling rack with a kitchen towel underneath is a quick fix for a bottle drier. (lots cheaper)

26. You become a "professional" photographer! Hundreds of pictures fill up your memory card as well as your hard drive before they turn 6 months old!!

27. Don't forget your vitamins! I thought I was done taking prenatal vitamins...oh no! Not as long as you are breastfeeding! YUMMY...

28. Diaper packages stay the same size, but they have less and less in them as you go up in size!

29. Sam's Club member.

30. Even if you loved stormy weather before...the first storm will be terrifying. Especially if you are home alone and it's the middle of the night!

Stay tuned...I am sure there is more to come.

Spring Break Here I Come!!

With only four days next week with kids and this beautiful spring weather we have been having the last couple of days my mind is think of nothing but SPRING BREAK! What will I do for that week?? Well, I plan to go visit the breastfeeding clinic to check in and weigh Landen. I also think if the weather is still nice I will try to walk with Landen every day. Other than that...I have no plans and I like it that way!

As for next week... Dad's team is going to state!! So Brett, Landen and I will be traveling to Topeka on Wednesday and hopefully a day or two after that to watch the team play. GO GRANDPA!!

We have four days with the kids at school. I need to get some grade cards started so Friday I can come home after our 1/2 day inservice. Which what we will be discussing is and will be a mystery.

Today, we are going to the car dealership. My lease is up on my Altima and we need to decide what to do with it. I am pretty sure we are going to keep it and try to get rid of the Jeep. I love driving the Jeep, but I hate writing the check each month. Here's what I would like to have!

Lessons in Being a Mom From a First Timer

See #'s 10 and 11

Today I realized I have learned A WHOLE LOT in the last 2.5 months.

1.First of all staying up until 4 am and partying is MUCH different than staying up with a baby.

2. You must take care of yourself to take care of a baby. It is NO fun to take care of a sick baby when you are also sick.

3. POOP happens! And sometimes it is a fountain!

4. Speaking of fountains, little boys will shower you!

5. The badge of motherhood...a little white glob on your black sweater!

6. Vaccums, hairdryers, and vibrating chairs are GOD SENDS!

7. Just because the clothes say 3 months, doesn't mean he will wear them when he is 3 months. (Landen has been wearing 3 months size clothes since he was 1 month!)

8. A car ride alone can be a self esteem pumper, or a terrible terrible NIGHTMARE.

9. You can't be afraid to get out of the house. (Says the lady with the baby with RSV)

10. Cease the little moments you have.

11. Be resourceful.

12. A picture a 1,000 words, but write it down anyway. You won't remember what day they first cooed or smiled at you unless you do!

13. Pregnancy brain doesn't stop immediately after delivery.

14. Nursing is painful at first...but it is worth it if you can suffer through the first few weeks or months.

15. The breastfeeding clinic was my favorite place to go. I actually looked forward to whipping out my boob and feeding my little guy in "public"! :)

16. Do it! Ask for help! No one will think less of you. If they do, they aren't parents!

17. Just because the door is locked and there is a sign on the door doesn't mean the janitor won't unlock your door and invite the whole fire department into your room while you are PUMPING!

18. NO JURY DUTY!

19. A sleeping baby is not hungry! Don't wake them up, you can't anyway!

20. Finally going back to work is TOUGH, but having a sick baby and not being able to stay home and cuddle is the worst feeling in the world.

I am sure there are more things that I have forgotten.
