Our First Days at Home

Mommy and Landen taking a nap.
Justin and Raine came to visit.

My first ride in the swing.

In front of the Christmas tree.

Hanging out with Daddy.

First bath.
Loving every minute of it....

Before the bath....blogger and their posting pictures backwards.... annoying!

Oh look...mommy and Landen taking a nap again.

Daddy changing his very first poopy diaper!! We needed to record this event.

We have had a very eventful first few days. Lots of learning and lots of needed rest; mostly for mommy!I think tomorrow we might make our first outing, we would like to take him to the mall to have his picture taken with Santa. Then it's MANY Christmas's for the next couple days. Hopefully it won't wear us all out too much. Friday will be Landen's first doctors appointment.

Landen Bradlee Schultz

Landen was born today at 6:25 pm. He weighed 8lbs. 1oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long. He is sleeping right now and so is daddy. Brett got about 2 hours of sleep today after getting off work at 6 am. Labor was pretty quick and I feel pretty good, after getting to finally eat at about 7:30-8:00. (Only 12 hours since I ate breakfast) I am starting to get a little tired and think its about time to lie down!!

Anyone else ready to have a baby?

I am starting to get so anxious to have Landen, no wait, not starting I am! I am nervous and fidgety. I can't hardly stand it. I have no control over when he comes and it is totally killing me. I never thought of myself as a control freak, but I guess I must be. I like to plan things and this I couldn't plan. Even when I was trying to get pregnant it didn't work with "my plan".

I have cleaned the kitchen literally from top to bottom, I have organized and reorganized the closets, and I have done enough laundry for an entire year. I just wish I could get as motivated to do grade cards as I am cleaning and preparing for Landen! But, I will get them done in time, I still have until January 7th! This nesting thing is great, but for some reason it only hits me at like 10:30 pm now. I have been cleaning for months, but now I am exhausted until the clock hits about 10:30 and then the dust starts flying!! (If there was any left)

Oh, and to add to my anxiety we are going to have a stinkin' snow/ice storm again tonight! I am supposed to go to the doctor tomorrow afternoon and I REALLY want to go. I want to find out if I have made any progression! So....the roads better be clear by 2:00 tomorrow afternoon. I want he to hurry up and come, but I also don't want to drive to Topeka in a snow storm going 20 mph!

Baby Shower at School with My Kids!!

A few of the parents planned a shower for me and got he kids involved. It was so special and so much fun! They made a blanket with the kids' handprints on it and gave me a basket full of diapering supplies and a cute dinosaur outfit. I have the greatest class ever! I am so lucky.

My Growing Belly Continues

This should be the last of the belly shots. The only thing left is the after the baby shot!!! Which I am thinking won't be posted! :)
This is the end of the 8th month.

Lastest News on the Baby Front!!

Well we went to the doctor today and I found out that I am 1 cm dilated and starting to thin out. She also said that Baby Landen's head is farther down. She basically said that it is a "no go" on an induction of Dec 20-21. She won't do it any earlier than Dec 23rd. SERIOUSLY what is the difference in 2 days!! That is really not that much more "cooking" time.
We also had a sonogram today to see how big he was getting. They estimated, which is difficult to do with the head SO low, that he is 7 pounds 11 ounces. I might be able to put the pictures up later tonight. My laptop decided to blow a hinge last week, so I am using the school laptop and I can't install the scanner on it. Ashley said she might come over later and I can use hers.
I am going to start trying to move this baby along next Tuesday or Wednesday myself, if I haven't had him by then. I would like to go to school at least Monday and then I think I can safely say I would be all ready to have the baby.

UPDATE

Brett and I went to the doctor on Thursday and I had my first 1 week appointment. I talked with the doctor about how close she thought I was to having this baby and I was told my due date is DECEMBER 30th! But, fortunately she also talked about inducing me before then so I can "have this baby before the end of the year" If I get to pick a date I will pick a day before Christmas. I would like to have him home and settled before Santa comes. I will have another sonogram done next week to see how big Landen is!! The doctor also said it might be a little difficult to tell because he has already dropped and is sitting very low. (Which I was starting to really feel!!!)
We did get a lot of our Christmas shopping done while we were in Topeka. I am starting to feel like the holidays are quickly approaching, but in the same sense I feel like this baby is comfortable right where he is! I haven't noticed a Braxton-Hicks contraction for a while, and I am getting nervous about if I will notice the first signs of real contractions. I wake up every morning with an ear ache and my jaw hurting, I know I am stressed and clinching my jaw in my sleep. I hate things that I have no control over!!! I am a planner and this is driving me nuts!

How Many Men Does it Take to Put Up Christmas Lights?

Apparently the answer is 4. One on the roof (my husband, God love him), one on a ladder, and 2 on the ground for moral support (I guess)!!
I would like everyone to know that last year I basically put up and took down those very lights BY MYSELF!!! MEN!
